Our parking lot was laid when we first moved to our current building in 2006. The 18 years which have passed since then have taken their toll on the asphalt, to the point where patching cracks and filling potholes will no longer be enough to keep our lot functional. Before next winter, the parking lot must be repaved.
Repaving our parking lot isn’t just necessary for the convenience of our congregation; it’s crucial to sustaining the positive impact our church has on our community. A well-maintained parking lot is visually inviting and ensures accessibility and safety for all who visit our church. Our mission is to lead people into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ, and ensuring our community can easily access our building is one of the first steps in making that happen. Why is the parking lot being repaved?
The parking lot has served us well for 18 years, but frequent use and the Chicago winters have taken their toll. In order to properly repair the damage it has sustained, the parking lot must be stripped down and repaved.
How much will the 2024 Parking Lot Project cost?
We expect it to cost $250,000 or about $300 per parking space.
When will the 2024 Parking Lot Project begin/be completed?
We plan to have the work done in 3 phases:
Phase one starting in June- estimated cost approximately $75,000
Phase two starting in September, estimated cost approximately $125,000
Phase three starting in November estimated cost approximately $50,000. * All work completed by the end of 2024.
Is there a deadline by which the funds for each phase need to be received?
In order to ensure that all three phases are completed according to schedule, we need to receive $75,000 by May 26th, $125,000 by August 18th, and $50,000 by October 20th.

Should I reassign the money I give as tithe to the 2024 Parking Lot Project?
While repaving our parking lot is necessary, reallocating funds from tithes to the parking lot could negatively impact our ability to function on a day-to-day basis. Please continue to be faithful in giving the tithe, and ask the Lord what He would have you give in addition in support of the parking lot project.

1. PRAY. Ask God what amount you should give. Matthew 9:38 “Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.”
2. PLAN. Make a plan to give. When you have plans and are diligent, it leads to plenty. Proverbs 21:5 "The plans of the diligent lead to profit as surely as haste leads to poverty.” God is excited when you have a plan! Whatever the amount is -have the plan in place, work the plan and be obedient with it.
3. GIVE. Give weekly, monthly, quarterly- whatever you have purposed in your heart to give & do it cheerfully. 2 Corinthians 9:6-7 “Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.”
